HolidayCheck AG acquires the online portal Beach-Inspector.com under the terms of an asset deal

Munich, Germany, 21 December 2018 – The ratings and booking portal HolidayCheck will acquire the principal assets of Beach-Inspector GmbH under the terms of an asset deal on 21 December 2018. The parties agreed not to disclose the price.

The online portal Beach-Inspector is a search and information platform dedicated to the subject of beaches. Visitors can use the site to find suitable hotels, package holidays and leisure activities based on their beach preferences. Under the asset deal, HolidayCheck will acquire the platform’s data on around 1,600 beaches and 400 resorts. The data include ratings (produced by testers on site), editorial content, photographs and videos. The company’s domains (including beach-inspector.com), trademark rights and technical platform are also covered by the asset deal.

Christoph Ludmann, CEO of HolidayCheck AG, said: ‘Our vision is to become the most holidaymaker-friendly company in the world. On our own platforms, beaches are one of the most popular topics in terms of searches and clicks. Thanks to our acquisition of Beach-Inspector’s main assets, we will be able to offer our holidaymakers much more relevant information to help them search for and find the perfect holiday. The integration of beachinspector.com’s exclusive content into our own platform will allow us to convince even more holidaymakers of HolidayCheck’s services and to further boost our traffic figures.’
